God and War

Time’s been short. I haven’t spent anywhere near enough time keeping up the blog lately. Even my Twitter posts have faded. But I’ve also done a bit of work on the book and I’ve had some family matters to sort out.

To kick start the blog again, I thought I’d post one of the scariest things I’ve seen lately, a link to a piece at GQ (yes, that’s right) containing cover sheets to the daily briefings that Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld prepared for President Bush. The use of biblical quotes is deeply frightening to me. Clearly, Rumsfeld and Bush saw the invasion of Iraq as their holy duty, a crusade. This is outrageous. Bush really was the worst, stupidest President in history. His advisors, on the other hand, were just plain evil.
